Measure and learn from change

I work mainly with organisations dedicated to bringing about social or environmental change. I work with project or programme teams to help them clarify the goals of their initiatives, identify and test the assumptions they make about the context in which they are working, and to establish the most effective ways to identify, measure, and learn from the change they are seeking to bring about.

Examples of some of the ways I can help organisations are:

  • Helping organisations to clarify their Theory of Change and strategic direction
  • Supporting organisations to develop appropriate systems for Monitoring, Evaluating, and Learning from their projects, programmes or policies.
  • Leading or providing strategic inputs into policy, programme or project evaluations.

“I just want to say a big thank you to all the support you offered over the last month! I really appreciate how flexible you were given some of the challenges in communication and delays in receiving work from our Ethiopia office”. (Ollie, AMREF, January 2015)

“I would like to thank you all for the MEL training and support leading up to our Comic Relief Phase 2 application.  This support, especially the Skype calls in the proposal writing process have been hugely appreciated and valued by Health Poverty Action.  Your support has been extremely useful”. (Nicole Tobin, Health Poverty Action, October 2015)

“I wanted to tell you how much I liked it (your evaluation report). It’s clearly the product of 2 professionals working in a highly organized and transparent manner. It reads VERY well, and your recommendations seem sensible and useful. The methodology section and annexes make me confident that the evaluators are competent and well organized and that they have done a solid and unbiased job”. (Doug Horton, peer reviewer of evaluation of New Zealand Agency for International Development’s Latin America Strategy, 2011)
